2020年5月25日、アメリカ・ミネソタ州ミネアポリスにて、黒人男性のジョージ・フロイドさんが警察に押さえつけられて死亡したというニュースが報道されました。

怒りや悲しみの感情を持つも、「なんて言ったらいいんだろう」「何ができるんだろう」と思う方は、わたし以外にもいると思います。ここに、わたしたちができることを、リストにしてまとめました。

最新情報があれば、随時記事を更新していこうと思います。もし、ここに必要な情報を記載していなかったり、記載しておきたい大事な情報などがあれば、記事の下からコメントをよろしくお願いします。

わたしたちにできること

わたしたちが日本からできることとして、①人種差別問題について知ること②SNSで発信すること③署名・寄付をすることが挙げられます。

そこで、ここには今起きていることについて、少しでも知ることができるソーシャルメディアの投稿と、人種差別問題について学び、知識を得ることができる映画・ドキュメンタリー、署名・寄付ができるウェブサイトの情報をまとめました。

まずは、ソーシャルメディアで情報収集をしてみることも大きな一歩。できることから、行動していきましょう。

.  日本のメディアがまだ報道していない、アメリカで注目を浴びているスピーチに字幕を付けました。 I translated and subtitled Jumaane Williams‘ speech in Japanese, which hasn’t been highlighted by Japanese media yet.  とても重い内容であることだけは先にお伝えしておきます。  人種差別について議論するか否かは個々人次第だと思いますが、 人種差別に本当に苦しめられている人々と 同じ世界に我々が共存しているという事実は、 少なくとも受け止めるべきだと感じます。  ブラックコミュニティが日頃から何を感じているのか。 それがウィリアムズ氏の声と表情から滲み出ているように見えます。  同じ人間なのに、肌の色が違うだけで 社会から違う扱いを受けるということ自体 許されるべきではないのは当たり前かと思いますが、 現実は違うということを忘れてはいけないと改めて感じてます。  こういう映像がきっかけに、1つでも2つでも会話が始まるだけでも、 長い目で見たら何か変化が起きるかもしれない、という希望は捨てたくないですね。  僕も今後やれることはやっていきます。  翻訳を手伝ってくれた、言語学の博士号を持つ母親に感謝です。  The intention behind this post is not to start arguments but for us Japanese people to take in the insight of what the black community goes through everyday.  And for us to take in that racial discrimination has a strong presence on this planet we share.
I feel the least we could do is start talking about it and simply try to learn.   This is long overdue, but I’ll do what I can from here on out.   Also, I want to thank my mother who has a doctorate in linguistics that helped me with this translation.

5月25日に米国ミネソタ州のミネアポリスで、黒人男性のジョージ・フロイドさんが白人男性の警官に首を膝で9分間もの間押さえつけられ、死亡しました。 警察によると、商店から偽札を使おうとした客がいると通報受けた警察が、自動車に乗っていたフロイドさんを拘束しました。 フロイドさんが地面に膝で押さえつけられ「息ができない」と何度も何度も訴え、さらにはフロイドさんが無反応になったにも関わらず、警察官は膝をどかさずに彼の首を抑え続けた動画が撮影されており、大きな波紋を呼んでいます。私も動画を拝見しましたが、市民の命守るべき存在であるはずの警察が、何度も助けを請うているフロイドさんの声に耳を傾けず、膝で首を押さえつける様子に煮え繰り返る怒りを覚えました。 現在、全米各地で抗議デモが行われ、事件が起きたミネアポリスや米国各地では抗議デモが激化しています。 拘束に関わっていた4人の警官はすでに懲戒免職になっています。しかし、市民は警官の即時解雇に加え、告訴を求めています。これは殺人であると市民は訴えています。 米国では、黒人が警察官によって不当に殺される事件が相次いでいます。 私たちはこういった人種差別の問題に一丸となって立ち向かっていかなければなりません。 こんな話アメリカで起きてることだから日本には関係ない、と感じている人はいませんか？ 実はアメリカだけに限った話ではないのです。日本にも人種差別の問題はたくさんあります。 次の投稿では入管問題について投稿をしたいと思います。 #blacklivesmatter #justiceforgeorge #antiracist

As a white person, my parents never had to discuss how to behave around police officers when I was a kid. Growing up I never once thought about what my skin colour meant and what it might mean to others. As a white person, I know I have the privilege of never having to think about this. I know I never had to deal with any of this. But as a white person I have the responsibility, WE have the responsibility to talk about the injustice and to make it right. Why? Because none of us chose the colour of our skin nor did we choose which privileges came with it or those that did not. ⁣ ⁣ The senseless murders of Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd and the unquestionably racist incident that happened in Central Park this week are a few of the stories that made headlines that we KNOW of. Ahmaud should still be breathing. George should still be breathing. Next time we read, watch, listen or witness something we know is not right, we need to speak up and use our voices. THIS is what the media won’t show 24/7. ⠀ There were THOUSANDS of peaceful protest that happened all around the country that got 5 mins of air time. ⠀ ⠀ Don’t bite the bait they are trying to hook you with. DECIDE TO SHARE LIGHT NOT DARKNESS. ⠀ ⠀ The peace and returning to “normal” is not an option. The natural flow of order is disturbed. Now that we have the attention, THIS is how change will happen. ⠀ ⠀ CONVERSATIONS. LET YOUR ACTIONS SPEAK. ⠀ ⠀ They want us to riot to prove their point. ⠀ ⠀ They want us to destroy our own communities, which we will pay for with OUR tax dollars. ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ Those of you who have thousands of followers and aren’t utilizing your platform right now to make a positive difference regarding this, your either ignorant or selfish. Especially if you use black culture in your favor. USE YOUR VOICE, I PROMISE IT MATTERS.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Im hopeful. As bad as it sounds, it’s BEAUTIFUL what’s happening, I believe that LASTING CHANGE is going to take place if we continue to take POSITIVE ACTION. Find out what you can do. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀ The INHUMANITY that is our world is disgusting. But be mindful that the timing of this is not convenient. It’s planned. Don’t riot. Don’t loot. Be organized, be smart in your approach. Don’t cave into the bait. ⠀ ⠀ There needs to be as many eyes as possible surrounding this conversation for CHANGE to happen. For JUSTICE to happen. To not only SAY that black lives matter but to PROVE it.
